Florida Woman Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison for DUI
FLORIDA – Last spring, a Florida woman rammed her Saturn into a metal guardrail on Interstate 295 in Jackonville. Angela Harper, 32, was reportedly driving drunk at 100 mph when she lost control of the vehicle, throwing several people out of the car. Harper was wearing her seatbelt, but several of her teenage passengers were not. Her 13-year-old son, Jesse, died at the scene.
Florida law enforcement officers measured her blood alcohol level at .11, which is over the legal limit. Harper pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter and received a sentence of nearly 9 years in prison.
